Number of treatments required

Precaution
The skin cannot be tanned during the treatment process. The to be treated area cannot be exposed to sun or a sunbed for at least 6 weeks prior to the treatment. We recommend consistently applying sunscreen with SPF 30 or 50 to the area and/or covering the area.
During treatment
The skin therapist adjusts the laser to your skin type and the characteristics of the scars. She places the laser head on the scar and gives pulses on the entire scar. The laser pulses of the fractional laser penetrate deep into the skin, stimulating connective tissue cells to produce collagen. The production of new collagen ensures that the skin looks smoother and feels suppler. Pigment cells recover, making skin discoloration in the scar less visible, any redness left behind is treated with IPL. Because the laser head contains a cooled tip, the treatment is experienced as tolerable.
Aftercare
Immediately after the treatment, redness and swelling can occur, depending on the settings of the parameters. The swelling decreases within a few hours and the redness will reduce within the next few days. You can resume your daily activities the same day. Your therapist will advise you to avoid the sun for a minimum of 2 weeks after treatment and protect your skin with a SPF 30 or 50 protection factor.
